Yes, you read it right. A dessert parlour dedicated for matcha is now open at Central Park mall. Taking place on lower ground level (near to BCA ATM center), Amausaan lets you enjoy various matcha desserts with traditional Japanese settings. Traditional Japanese gate with the curtains was at the front of the shop as the entrance. Inside, you can feel Japanese traditional room, the wall has panels and the shop uses wooden long table that is connected with the wall. In the middle, there’s a table with unique decoration – traditional boiling of Japanese pot.
Without any further ado, let’s go to the desserts from Amausaan Uji Matcha. I had Inari Torii – Matcha Mille Crepes Cake (IDR 49K) as the first dessert to try. As the description tells you, Inari Torii is a layered matcha crepes with cream in between. This cake was delightful, with the matcha flavor really came out and the cream helped to balance the flavor.
Next, I went for something which was more “eventful”, Ishida – White Jade Matcha Story (IDR 62K). This dessert consisted of matcha ice cream, mochi, red bean paste, whipped cream, brownie crumble, matcha sauce, popcorn crumble and pudding. All of these were presented in a bowl. At the top, there were the ice cream with popcorn crumble, mochi and red bean paste. As I dug in, there were whipped cream and brownie crumble, then matcha sauce started to ooze out. The pudding was at the base of the bowl.
Matcha ice cream and mochi (also plus red bean) are always a good combination. The popcorn crumble added more texture and different kind of taste to the dessert. The other highlight, of course, was the matcha sauce. The sauce was dark green in color and gave the authentic taste of matcha, sweet but with a hint of bitter taste.
Amausaan also serves other matcha desserts, like the classic matcha soft serve, matcha parfait, and even the authentic Japanese matcha tea. Overall, this dessert shop is a matcha heaven! You can indulge yourself with various matcha goodness!
